Lake Speed is a former NASCAR driver who began his career in the Cup Series in 1980. He recorded his first top-ten finish in 1984 and won his only Cup race in 1988 at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

Speed retired from NASCAR in 1998 after 402 Cup starts, 48 top-ten finishes, and over $6.3 million in winnings. After retiring, he became a NASCAR commentator for Fox Sports and NBC.

Lake Speed is also the founder of the higher-octane fuel additive, "Octane Energy Formula," which is sold to racers and enthusiasts.
